FOREST FIRES IN INDONESIA TURN THE SKY BLOOD RED

Forest fires in Jambi Indonesia makes the sky turn blood red. The forests burn every year during the dry season, but this is the first time the sky turned red and the air quality is now far too dangerous for people. Around 900,000 Indonesians have suffered from problems caused by the extensive fires from this summer.

The sky goes blood red because the sunlight is dispersed by smoke, dust or airborne particles that filter shorter wavelengths and release longer wavelengths that are in the orange or red.

This season in Indonesia has been the worst forest fire in years. Last week the police of Indonesian arrested approximately 200 people for the fires that they have caused by the air quality.
